About Chatham Emeralds:

Chatham Lab-Grown Emeralds

Chatham grows emerald crystals in a secret lengthy process they invented 75 years ago. It takes about a year from start to finish: the crystals grow for about nine months. The process starts with a naturally mined seed of fine Colombian emerald with perfect color. A controlled environment rich in chromium is created to give the crystals a rich green hue. The crystals grow larger and cleaner than the emeralds grown in nature. When the crystals are cut, 80% of the rough is cut away to give you faceted emeralds that are essentially flawless in clarity and highly saturated in color. The price difference between the finest lab-grown and mined emerald of the same size and quality can be as much as $100,000 per carat!

Providing the Correct Ring Size:
When placing your order, please make sure you provide the correct ring size. If you do not know your ring size, or want to double check, it is advisable to visit a local jeweler. Many jewelers will measure your finger for free.

Tips for accurate measurement:
Measure your finger in warm temperatures at the end of the day (this is when your finger is at its largest).
Avoid measuring cold fingers (cold fingers are smaller than warm fingers).
If your knuckle is much larger than the base of your finger, make sure and measure both the base of your finger as well as your knuckle and select a size between the two to allow enough room to comfortably slip over your knuckle.
Please note that your primary hand’s ring size can be a half to a full size larger.
Please do not use any printable sizers that can be found online. Most of these are inaccurate.
